Investment Strategy

GP Investments is the leading Private Equity firm in Latin America.  Since 1993, GP Investments has raised approximately US$5 billion through six private equity funds and has completed 48 investments in 15 different industries and 39 exits. GP Investments’ investment strategy consists of creating value through actively managing its portfolio companies. GP Investments only acquires control or joint control positions so it can ensure its strategy is implemented.

GP Investments’ focus is expanding EBITDA by adding value to acquired companies, through revenue and margin expansion. GP Investments has a preference for mature companies with strong cashflow generation.

In addition, GP Investments focuses on larger deals that allow it to attract qualified top management, face less competition and have faster access to capital markets.  GP Investments’ distinctive business model, through which it is the largest investor in its funds, provides a unique and strong alignment of interests with its investors.

GP Investments’ current portfolio consists of 11 companies and is diversified throughout 11 sectors, from industrial sector and consumer goods to oil services, education, real estate and tourism. In May 2006, GP Investments concluded its initial public offering (IPO), becoming the first private equity firm listed in Brazil.
